Split Watermelon Design

studio update

Monday, 10 August 2009

It might be the height of the chilly winter season, but Split Watermelon is heating up with heaps of new projects and preparations for the Australasian Gaming Expo. The team is excited to be participating in the show as exhibitors this year and looks forward to meeting new people and catching up with familiar faces. We’ll be there from 16-18 August. Come and see us at stand 303!

the designers' perspective

KOOLOORA SKI LODGE

Over the past year, SWD has embraced the challenge of the snowy Perisher Valley and an alpine design opportunity with Kooloora Ski Lodge. A Mounties owned and operated holiday resort, Kooloora is perfectly situated at the base of the mountain only 800 metres from the chair lifts. With picturesque views and a cozy atmosphere, the inspiration was obvious.

design features

Lounge Room - One of the highlights of the lodge is the stunning stone fireplace that stretches from floor to ceiling and adds to the warm and snug setting that is much needed after a long day on the slopes.

Banquette

Club Cronulla

A custom built-in joinery seat wraps around the room welcoming guests and maximizing the space for stretching out and socializing. A dramatic feature light hangs above the space adding character and an element of natural beauty. Casting dramatic shadows and unmatchable ambience, the feature pendant has been a popular element in the space.

Dining Room - Timber floors, custom timber tables, built-in cabinets, feature light fittings, and views of the mountain make this room one of our favourites. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a warm meal after working up an appetite on the slopes.

Now that you have the perfect place to stay, head to Perisher and check out SWD's lastest project, Kooloora! Click here to make your booking.
